Certified Organic Black Garlic Powder
Quarter Moon Farm makes their black garlic powder by dehydrating their organic black garlic first; this is a long process! When the black garlic is fully dehydrated, it is ground by hand into a fine powder.
Black garlic powder is an excellent ingredient to add into a dry rub for infusing flavor into meats or fish. A classic dry rub will incorporate savory, sweet, and spicy flavors. Brown sugar is typically used for the “sweet,” and cayenne or chili powder are go-to choices for the “spicy.”
Black garlic powder is a wonderful flavor burst to add to the savory portion of the rub, in addition to salt, pepper, paprika, and onion powder. Other savory additions can include cumin, coriander, sage, or rosemary, depending on your particular taste. Experiment to see what combination you most enjoy!
Black Garlic & Sel Gris Sea Salt
Quarter Moon’s Black Garlic & Sel Gris Sea Salt is made of gray salt imported from Breton, France, combined with their organic black garlic powder. A little goes a long way!
You can use this as well in a dry rub, or have on hand for when you want to add extra zip and flavor to a dish. “Sel gris” is a coarse granular sea salt that is rich in minerals and lower in sodium content than many other salts. It is typically used as a garnish or finishing salt, although it may also be used in cooking.
The mixture of black garlic powder with the sel gris gives you a complex flavor that is an excellent garnish to meat and fish dishes. It will also add a flavor boost to soups and salads.
