Homemade pizza is so much fun to make, because you can go wild with creativity! Crust can be tailored to be thin, chewy, whole wheat, or gluten-free. Sauce can be tomato-based, pesto, or bianca, meaning “white” in Italian. Toppings can be a variety of vegetables from the ordinary to the exotic, meats, olives, or some combination. Then there is the cheese!
You can never tire of homemade pizza, because you can make a new combination virtually every time you make a new creation!
A bianca pizza in its most basic form is typically made by drizzling olive oil over the pizza dough, sprinkling with salt, and then adding your toppings. But a bianca pizza can also mean a pizza made with a creamy white sauce or creamy white cheese, as we’ve done here. We’ve used ricotta, although you can also use mozzarella, Parmesan, Feta, or a combination of cheeses. Generously dollop the cheese of your choice onto the pizza dough.
Now for the toppings! We’ve chosen to use thinly sliced prosciutto, a little bit of baby spinach, and of course, Quarter Moon Farm’s organic black garlic. The combination of textures and flavors can’t be beat! Buon appeptito!
