Spring is right around the corner at Quarter Moon Farm, home of Quarter Moon Farm organic garlic products. And what does that mean to owners Cindy and Marcel Collard? Apple tree pruning!
The ladders are out, and the pruners are in hand! Snow may still be on the ground, but spring is in the air. The temperatures are warmer, and the birds have started to return. Oh, what a sweet sound it is in the early morning to hear them sing!
And let’s not forget the spring crocuses. Their bright colors are a delight, seen popping up amidst the dried leaves where the snow has melted.
Meanwhile, the black garlic fermenters are going, per usual, in Quarter Moon’s fermenting room. The Keene Sentinel newspaper ran a great article about the farm on Feb. 28, 2019, which gives a nice overview of how it all comes together at Quarter Moon.
With spring on the horizon, the hard work of the farm is about to cycle round again. But Cindy and Marcel only feel excitement, because they love what they do. As they say, “May you taste it [love] in every bite!”
